Why 3 wheels?

Regulations for cars in the Untied States have made cars over weight. Other countries

such as UK have “light car” markets which allow for weekend toys such as Caterham super 7,

Ariel Atom, ktm X-bows, and the campagna T-Rex. The US has no such category, but allows a

window surrounding 3 wheeled motorcycles. 3 wheeled motorcycles can be built as light weight

cars and registered as motorcycles allowing for a street legal car that is truly unrivaled in terms of

performance in this country.

Is this a car or a motorcycle?

Legally, Scorpion P6s (as with all other 3 wheeled motorcycles) are registered as motorcycles.

Do I need a motorcycle license to drive my P6?

We advise buyers to check with their state regarding the laws pertaining to 3 wheeled motorcycles. Most

states will require a valid motorcycle license.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Helmet laws in most states are the same as for any motorcycle, so buyers should become

aware of their state’s helmet laws for motorcycles before purchase. However, some states do

distinguish between a motorcycle and an enclosed 3 wheeled motorcycle when it comes to helmet use. Again,

it is best to check with your state before purchase.

How is it operated?

Even though it is classified as a motorcycle, Scorpion P6s are driven exactly the same as a

car. This means that you will have a steering wheel and a familiar 3 pedal assembly(clutch, brake, and gas)

It also has a sequential shifter next the the steering wheel for ease of shifting and can be equipped with our electronic

paddle shifter assembly

How easily serviceable is it?

The Scorpion P6 was designed to be easily serviceable. The entire rear bodywork section can

be removed quickly to expose the motor and cooling system. Once there, all engine maintenance

and most wiring work will be easily accomplished by any motorcycle mechanic familiar with Kawasaki

products. Being an open wheeled vehicle with exposed suspension, most other major mechanical

components are easily accessible and easy to work on.

Do I need to use a clutch, and can I do clutchless shifting?

Scorpion P6s do not come equipped with a robotic clutch, so the clutch needs to be used for starting

and stopping. Clutchless shifts are possible; however, we discourage them because they greatly

reduce the life of the transmission. Clutchless shifting will result in loss of warranty coverage.

What kind of gas mileage does it get?

P6s are capable of nearly 40mpg, however mileage depends greatly on driving style.

Is it safe?

This is no ‘grocery hauler’. General use of a Scorpion P6 is similar to that of a motorcycle. The

chassis is a steel tube space frame with an aluminum semi-monocoque. Also, being a single

seat car, the driver is put in the middle, allowing for any impacts to be made to the extents of the car

long before the driver; unlike the common motorcycle.

Will it flip over?

Scorpion P6s have an ultra low center of gravity meaning that although flipping can occur in

any vehicle, you are just as likely to flip a conventional vehicle.
